Recipe: Alison Roman’s Dining In
Total Time: 45 min
Review: Quick sidebar. I couldn’t find Sumac in Whole Foods, so Monday, I did a quick Google search and realized that Kalustyans, the famous spice store, was right by work on 28th and Lex. What luck! So I biked there after work and as soon as I stepped inside, I was like “eeeing” with excitement on the inside. They have every. spice. Everything! Everything you could imagine! I had fantasies of buying all my spices there, and cooking to incorporate all these fabulous spices. I restrained myself and just bought the sumac and yuzu kosho that I needed. But I have grand plans to return for tomato chutney to recreate an Italian sandwich with Soppressata I had at Eataly once. Gonna come back to that one in the next few weeks.
Anywho, everyone already knows that Alison Roman can do no wrong – and this recipe was no exception. It wasn’t as to-die-for as some of her others, but the crispy skin and olives were making every bite exciting and honestly, leftover chicken in grain bowls were just as good.
